The Multimedia Evaluation System (Sesame) software was developed by Nielsen Media Research, in correspondence with the launch of ARMs in 2003.

The Multimedia Sesame allows users to perform a statistical routine on the Audience Research Measurement Study data and use it for campaign planning purposes. It can tabulate the scheduling and planning of a Clear Channel-only media plan or a traditional media +OOH plan. This software can roll out multiple media schedules on a single platform across the 4 main types of media; i.e. print, television, radio and Clear Channel’s bus shelter medium. It illustrates the media types and volume which can be purchased, with a pre-defined budget compared to returns measured in GRPs. The program allows our advertiser to run up to 10 permutations of media schedules across 10 target market groups. 

Simply put, it calculates the reach and frequency of each to allow the user to compare one potential plan against another. With rating scores, or CGRPs, the advertiser or agency can further validate the investment of their advertising dollar.
